We have had a wonderful time planting our new hedgerow for school that was kindly donated by The Woodland Trust.  We hope this will encourage wildlife and help with our local environment

    Climate Summit for Pendle’s schools

    On the 11th July 2019 Pendle Borough Council declared a Climate Emergency, joining over 200 councils pledging their commitment to tackle climate change.  In signing this Declaration, the Council is keen to take action on climate change.  In particular they want to involve young people to understand their concerns and what they think we can all do together to address climate change locally.

    Five member of our ECO club attended a Climate Summit for Pendle’s schools on Wednesday 11th December.  The had a fantastic time.  They made a wormery, filtered water and made waxed wrappings for sandwiches.

      Recycling at Kelbrook

      At Kelbrook we recycle paper, plastic, bottles, cans and crisp packets.

      We have green bins for our paper waste and purple bins for our waste that cannot be recycled.  We also have a bin in our school hall for plastic bottles and containers.  And because we enjoy eating crisps with our packed lunches we collect all our crisp packets and send them off to be made into fleece jackets!  Outside we have a brown bin for cans, plastic and glass from our school kitchen and school.
