Meals, Free School Meals and Milk
Our school lunch menu offers 3 choices per day with rotating weeks to ensure variety. The current three-week menu can be accessed below, courtesy of Lancashire County Council. If you would like to change your children’s lunch choices, please send in a copy of the menu with their new choices indicated.
Lunches are £3.00 per day and are payable via the SchoolMoney payment system on Friday afternoons.
All state-funded schools in England, including academies and free schools, will have a legal duty to offer free meals for all children in Reception to Year 2, under the Universal Infant Free School Meals policy. The scheme is expected to save parents about £400 per year per child.
Free School Meals
All pupils in Key Stage 1 in primary schools (Reception year, Year 1 and Year 2) qualify for a free school meal under a scheme called Universal Free School Meals. This is not the same as Free School Meals.
To be eligible for Free School Meals you must be receiving one of the benefits listed below:
- Universal Credit with a household income of less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
- Income-Based Jobseekers’ Allowance
- Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit, not entitled to Working Tax Credit and household income less than £16,190
- Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Guarantee element of state pension Credit
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ – the payment you receive for a further four weeks after you finish work
If you are receiving one of the above benefits, either fill in the form below and pass to the school office or please ring the Area Education Office on 01254 220714. They can do an immediate online check for you.
They only require your name, date of birth and national insurance number to do this.
Please note, you still need to register your child with us even if you have an older child already attending school and receiving free school meals.
School will receive over £1000 from the Government for every pupil in the school who is eligible for free school meals. This funding is called ‘pupil premium’ and can be used by the school to improve pupils’ attainment. Please register your eligibility – even if you don’t want to take up the free meals – so that the school can access this extra funding.
School Milk
Milk is the ideal mid-morning drink for your child and for many it’s absolutely free.
Our milk deliveries are organised via Cool Milk so if you would like to register your child to receive milk in school, you must register them on the Cool Milk website.
Free for children under the age of five.
Free to children receiving or entitled to free school meals.
Subsidised for all other children in primary education.
